A slot is a space on a motherboard for an expansion card, such as an ISA (Industry Standard Architecture), PCI or AGP (accelerated graphics port) slot. It may also refer to a specific set of memory slots on a particular type of computer or video card.
The number of possible combinations for a single symbol on a slot machine is limited by the physical structure of the reels and the fact that each symbol can only occupy one stop. When manufacturers incorporated electronic controls in their machines, they were able to increase the number of symbols and thus the jackpot sizes, but this was still not enough to allow for completely random results. Therefore, to ensure randomness, they introduced a weighting system, whereby the probability of losing symbols appearing on the payline was reduced by comparing their frequency to the frequencies of winning symbols on each reel.
Most slot games offer information tables that help players keep track of the different symbols, their payouts and other important features. These tables are typically displayed in a pop-up window or as an on-screen list and can be easily accessible from the game’s main screen. You can add synonyms for a slot so that Dialog Engine recognizes several different phrases as the same entity value. To do this, click Add Synonym next to the slot type value and enter an alternate name for the slot. Then, when you say the slot type phrase to the bot, it will look for the synonym matching that exact name.
